Provincial Government

Hi, welcome our page on provincial government! Each province and territory in Canada has it’s own responsibilities. This is mainly because it would be too much for the federal government to deal with every issue in Canada, as it is so big.

Education, health care, natural resources and social assistance are the provincial governments responsibility. Schools and curriculum fall under education. Hospitals and health care insurance fall under the health care category. Energy and wild life protection falls under natural resources. Shelters and food banks fall under social assistance. Driving licenses and the laws surrounding them, are also the responsibility of the provincial government. Federal, provincial and municipal are all responsible for are transportation, law as well as police and environment. All three levels of government are responsible for these issues in different ways.
